Syncline

Syncline

Syncline is a Shopify app that keeps your products and inventory in two-way sync with a Google Sheet.

What Syncline does

Syncline connects a Shopify store to a Google Sheet that it creates in the merchant's Google Drive. Product and inventory data flows in both directions: edits made in the spreadsheet are written to Shopify, and changes made in the Shopify admin are written back to the spreadsheet, so the two stay in step without manual exports.

Bulk-editing a catalogue in the Shopify admin is slow. A spreadsheet is faster, but exports go stale the moment you make them. Syncline removes the export step: your sheet is your catalogue.

Built to be careful with your catalogue

Deleting a row never deletes a product; such rows are flagged for review instead. Every change is checked against the live values before anything is written, so the two systems cannot fight each other. When both sides change the same field, the later edit wins and the overwrite is recorded in an activity log you can audit.

Syncline asks Google only for access to the single spreadsheet it creates for you — not your Drive. It never requests access to your customers, orders or payment data.

Why Syncline needs access to your Google Account

To do this, Syncline asks permission to create and manage one spreadsheet in your Google Drive — the one it makes for you. It uses Google's drive.file scope, which grants access only to files the app itself creates, so it cannot see, list or open anything else in your Drive. It also reads your Google account's name and email address, purely to show which account is connected.

Getting started

Install Syncline from your Shopify admin and connect Google. Syncline creates the spreadsheet and fills it with your catalogue. Setup takes a couple of minutes.
